Testimonials
My three children ages 6, 8 and 10 all attended Camp Makemake. I had always gone to sleep away camp as a child in California and was so excited to hear about a similar concept in Chile.
I had known Rebecca as a teacher and parent at the Grange school and always admired her dedication to children and her creative spirit. When I picked the children up after their week at Camp Makemake I had never seen them so excited. All three of them had equally positive experiences.
My youngest couldn't stop talking about the animals, my middle daughter made new friends which given how shy she is never had been easy and my oldest son was finally allowed to break the rules of life - eating cake for lunch (just once) and getting to run wild and free and be a star for his natural curiosity and silliness.
The kids also came back closer than ever as removing their parents for a week bonded them as brother and sisters. Even coming up on a year later they share stories constantly about their week sleeping under the stars and playing with abandon.
We are thrilled to send all three of them back this year.

Camp Makemake is an excellent opportunity for our children. There they have a great time with other children, spend time in nature, meet new people and disconnect from technology.
It is planned carefully for children and the kids have an incredible time.
The staff are responsible and very kind and all of the activities are well planned and executed.

I really enjoyed Camp Makemake: I loved the water activities, especially kayaking. I also liked hiking because I felt like I was in close contact with nature. The nights were very fun because we slept in tents and we laughed so much! The counselors were very nice and fun and I made a lot of great friends. The place was cozy and charming!

My daughter, Mariana participated in Camp Makemake for the second time this summer and is planning on returning next summer too!!!
It was a wonderful experience for her, making new friends, spending time in nature, learning how to make food etc.
Without a doubt, camp has been an excellent opportunity for her.
Thank you very much Camp Makemake!

I think Camp Makemake was very cool and fun. We made s'mores and in the tent while we slept we were very comfortable next to the horses and cows. I think that you should come to Camp Makemake!

Camp Makemake was an incredible experience. I got to make lots of new friends and sleep in a tent. There was not one part of those seven days that I was bored. I loved it all!

My daughter really loved her camp experience. I was anxious about her getting homesick, but when I asked her about this when she came back she said: she had too much fun to even miss her home. It was a great experience and she really grew during this week!
I would definitely send her again!

Loving, creative, passionate, highly organized and responsible! Rebecca wholeheartedly injects her personal qualities into creating a fun and freeing experience for the kids at Camp Makemake.
Both of my daughters spent a week at Camp Makemake last January and my eldest daughter loved her week there so much that she called me to ask if she could stay for another! It definitely shows how much experience Rebecca has working with children as she is very adept at keeping different personalities entertained and being in tune with the needs of each child to make sure everyone has an unforgettable time! -

My two kids ( 6 and 10 years old) attended their first camp ever, and while the were both on the verge of tears when boarding the bus, they soon made friends and were equally reluctant to part when it was time to go home.
Their camp memories were full of fun, and funny stories. But most of all, my children were proud to be more independent and to have spent a week away from home, meeting new people and learning new things!
Rebecca and her staff took very good care of my children and attended very carefully to my concerns for my older son, who had a food allergy, and was very communicative pre-camp and also during the camp. I definitely recommend this camp as a great week or two for kids away from home

Our son Gideon attended Camp Makemake in January 2018. He was at the oldest age to participate at the time and we wondered if there would be enough to keep him busy and engaged as the other campers in his session would be younger than him. We need not have worried! He loved every moment and wrote us very nice letter mid-week that was sent on to us.

Right from the beginning we placed our confidence in Camp Makemake. The instructions for drop-off were very clear. The sign-in process went smoothly and we knew our son would be well cared for. We were set up in a WhatsApp group for the parents of the campers and were delighted to see pictures of the many activities every day! The children were obviously well-fed!

After we picked up our son when the week was over, he was very wistful on the way home, knowing that he could not participate as a camper the next year and wanted to know if they needed any helpers. I told him I would ask! But no matter what he had the experience of a lifetime and we look forward to sending our youngest son there as soon as he is old enough!

My almost 7 year old son went to this camp last year and had an amazing time! I totally recommend it. I was completely happy for him to be away for week as I know Rebecca and totally trust her. She said she would look after our children as if they were her own and I'm pretty sure that's what she did. My son can't wait to go back. He's talked about it throughout the year and has some great memories. 100% recommended!

This was my daughter´s first experience away from home so I was a bit concerned sending her. But right from the beginning everything was well organized and when I said goodbye I felt she was going to be fine and she would have a lovely week.
From the pictures Rebecca sent us parents, the place is beautiful and the children were doing activities from dawn to dusk. They were free to join in and if they didn´t want to there were other activities offered, cooking, arts and crafts, outdoor games etc.
My daughter made new friends with whom she still keeps in touch and she is very much looking forward to next year´s camp.

We were so excited to send our daughter to her first sleepaway camp at nine years old. She came back loving every minute of it! Singing, games, camping, cooking, and just some amazing time to be silly with a new group of friends.
This is the kind of camp I know in the US and I felt so comfortable with Rebecca and her team in charge.
Our daughter definitely made memories and she can´t wait for next year! Thank you Camp Makemake!

My summer at Camp Makemake was one of the best times I have ever had. I hung out with kids of all different ages and the activities were really fun and creative. I loved making new friends and I also enjoyed practising my English.
My favourite part was at the end of the day when we all got together around the campfire toasting marshmallows, drinking hot chocolate and laughing about all the funny things that happened during the day.
I totally recommend this camp. It was a wonderful experience.

My daughter had a fantastic time at Camp Makemake, she is still talking about it months later! In fact, when I asked her what she thought about the camp, she told me she had too many words to describe how good it was. Not only did it build her strength of character, it also encouraged her to be the person she is, meeting some great friends along the way!
This is the first camp my daughter has been on, so as a mum, I was quite anxious. Rebecca assured me that if I had any questions or concerns I could contact her or the team at any time. What I also found reassuring is that the camp site has a homely feel, on a lovely blueberry farm and the food was delicious.
The team sent us daily photos and updates, it was great to see them all having so much fun and learning new skills. I highly recommend this summer camp! Thanks Camp Makemake!

Camp Makemake is inclusive of all children from all kinds of backgrounds. Every child is respected and appreciated for his/her uniqueness.
For our two daughters, Camp Makemake is the highlight of the year. They always come back and tell us that one week is not enough. They return happy and full of fun memories.
I definitely recommend it. It's money well spent.

Our two boys had a wonderful time at Camp Makemake. I have very positive memories of my own summer camp experiences as a child and wanted them to be able to build similar memories. Luckily, we found Makemake!

Ah what can I say about this wonderful experience! It was my kids' first summer camp and they had a life-changing and magical experience there, making life-long friends, learning about teamwork and sharing, caring for others, and then there were the starlit nights with camp fires and s'mores, the fun and creative activities, the songs and so much more. Just wonderful.

I highly recommend this wonderful camp, last year my daughter participated and had a fabulous experience The place is beautiful and the community loving and supportive. Rebecca and her Makemake team were very welcoming. The sports, art and educational activities are planned and carried out with great dedication and care. So much so that the children forgot about their screens and cell phones , connecting with their fellow campers and with nature. And top of everything the camp was in English. I would recommend it in a heartbeat.

Our daughter had a wonderful time at Camp Makemake last summer!
It was her first camp and we were all a little nervous, but from the outset, from talking to Rebecca on the phone to meeting the team at the drop-off, I felt sure she was in good hands.
We looked forward to the daily updates and photos which arrived at the end of each day. It was clear that she was having lots of fun!
I would thoroughly recommend Camp Makemake. The opportunity make new friends, learn new skills, enjoy beautiful natural surroundings and take a break from tablets and phones is something really special.

Hands down the best life experience my 11 year old and 10 year old have had! They loved all the activities, especially the Trashion Show. They spoke wonders of the creativity and the kindness of the counsellors and Rebecca, as well as the great food and overall wonderful atmosphere. They want it to be next January already!!!
