At Camp Mákemáke, art isn’t just something you do—it’s something you live. Surrounded by forests, streams, and open skies, campers use what the earth provides to bring their creativity to life. Whether it’s painting smooth stones collected on a morning hike or crafting mud pies decorated with wildflowers, every project connects kids to the natural world in a hands-on, joyful way.
Working with natural materials teaches more than just art—it’s a way to slow down, notice the little details, and appreciate the delicate balance of our environment.
All our projects honor sustainability, we do our best to use only biodegradable, earth-friendly materials that leave no trace. As John Muir reminds us, “When we try to pick out anything by itself, we find it hitched to everything else in the universe.” Through eco-art, campers don’t just create—they discover their place in the amazing web of life around them.
We have a wonderful wall free outdoor art studio with an inspiring view, it's many of our campers' favourite place to be.
